Edisto River Adventures

I loved my experience with family friends! I’ve never gone tubing down the Edisto because my family doesn’t have rafts, but when I found out Edisto River Adventures had the whole set up we booked our experience. What an awesome way to spend a hot summer day floating in cool waters, immersed in nature. This is Charleston’s best kept secret, but not for long!

A group of 7 of us decided to do this river tubing adventure. After arrival, we got checked in, loaded onto floats, and sent on our way down the river. We were given NO INSTRUCTIONS, WARNINGS, PRECAUTIONS, NOTHING!!!! The float was going ok until we started drifting into some trees and had to have one person with us get off her float to push us back in the middle of the river. And off we went down the river again. We ended up steering towards a private dock but this is the one and only time we saw an ERA employee on a jet ski who came and pushed us back into the middle of the river. The employee told us we were near the end just up around the corner. We drifted off but didn’t see the ending. After a few more minutes of floating, we started going towards the trees. One person with us ended up stuck holding onto a tree while the rest of us floated away as the current was taking us. 2 ppl got off the floats and swam to the shore to try and get help. No ERA ever came but some bystanders came and rescued her from the tree branch she was holding on to. They also pushed us to the shore. When we did get out to speak with the employees, they were so nonchalant and only said they couldn’t help and we signed a waiver. Regardless if a waiver was signed or not, you just stand there seeing ppl in distress and not help???? SMH!!!!!! I will NEVER go to this place EVER again and do NOT recommend anyone else to. This place is DANGEROUS!!!!!!
